The IT Tech Specialist I works within Research and Specialty Services and supports the High Performance Computing team. This role focuses on the design, operation, and support of advanced computing platforms. These systems support Generative AI workloads, data science, and large scale research initiatives.
You will work with modern HPC tools and environments. The role requires strong technical judgment and the ability to work independently. At times, you will guide others, review technical decisions, and support shared standards across teams. This role balances daily system support with longer term planning and improvement work.
The position also involves collaboration across locations using virtual tools. Clear documentation, strong communication, and reliable execution are essential.
Core Responsibilities
The IT Tech Specialist I manages and supports complex computing systems.
You administer and support Nvidia SuperPod environments.
You manage parallel file systems used in HPC workloads.
You support Kubernetes and container based platforms.
You work with Slurm schedulers and job management tools.
You manage Nvidia Base Command environments.
You support DDN Intelliflash and DDN Datastore systems.
You write and maintain scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
You collect and report usage metrics across HPC platforms.
You ensure systems run efficiently and securely.
The role requires a deep understanding of how these systems work together.

Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment and Schedule
This is a full time role with a standard schedule.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Occasional after hours or weekend work may be required.
Participation in an on call rotation is expected.
The role is fully remote within the United States.
