Role Overview
The Senior Proposal Engineer will guide early engineering work related to new plant proposals, early works agreements and new product plans. You will work with many engineering groups, take in technical inputs and shape those inputs into clear proposal packages. You may also lead smaller groups of proposal engineers or other support staff to help meet planned goals.
Your work will focus on building schedules, reviewing estimates, writing clear technical summaries and helping teams make fast and solid choices. You will also track open issues, drive closure of concerns and help ensure that all assigned work stays on time and within budget.
Main Responsibilities
You will report to the Proposal Engineering Manager. You will guide design work and track progress against time and cost limits. You will build steady ties with many internal groups, including engineering teams, project leaders and other technical staff.
You will work with outside partners, customers and, when needed, regulators tied to the countries where projects may take place. You will work closely with Advanced Application groups and other engineering teams to review estimates, build schedules and manage change orders. You will also support responses to corrective actions when they appear.
A major part of the job includes guiding interfaces among many engineering fields. You will help teams close technical issues, support business project leads, speak with product teams, work with partners, manage tasks tied to subcontractors and work with customers as needed.
You will support planning, organization and task management for technical work tied to engineering deliverables. You will help manage outside resources to support good quality and cost control. You will take part in efforts to find new business paths and support some commercial and marketing needs.
You will protect the company’s intellectual property and support process improvement work. You will also help the company maintain its nuclear safety rules and compliance needs.
You will speak with business teams to share updates on product strategies, programs, risks and needed steps. Senior leads across GE Vernova may need clear updates, so strong communication is important.

This role requires access to export controlled data, so you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident or a protected individual under relevant U.S. law.
Desired Qualifications
Helpful skills include at least eight years of work in the nuclear field or in large new build or major project work in the power or oil and gas sectors. The job favors people who can work with teams in separate locations and who can keep projects moving while handling many priorities.
The company values strong leadership, clear speaking skills, the ability to share ideas in simple terms and the ability to think ahead. Project management skills such as clear communication, planning, risk review and change work are also useful. Experience in EPC work tied to large plant builds is a strong plus. Knowledge of nuclear systems and nuclear technology is helpful as well.
You should have good writing skill, good speaking skill and the ability to build and present plans that support future goals of the business. You must be able to work with export controlled information, and any offer will depend on related approvals from the U.S. government.
