What the role covers

This role supports automation sales for large OEM customers. You develop leads, qualify opportunities and guide deals from first contact to close. You ensure that target accounts include WEG products on approved vendor lists and you help uncover technical challenges where WEG can offer solutions.

You work across multiple sales groups, helping coordinate efforts between area managers, account managers and automation engineers. You also work with product managers and application engineers to shape custom solutions when needed.

You manage your own pipeline and help plan new business strategies. You study market needs, review industry trends and stay informed about new technologies that influence automation.

Main responsibilities

Meet automation sales goals

You support sales targets by driving activity within assigned OEM accounts. You plan actions that help build new business and strengthen relationships.

Develop leads and guide opportunities

You identify new prospects and review each lead to confirm viability. You decide where to focus time and resources. You help move opportunities from early discussions to confirmed business.

Secure product specifications

You work to place WEG automation products on customer approved lists. You help customers understand WEG’s advantages and ensure products fit technical and operational requirements.

Visit customer sites

You meet customers at their facilities. You study their applications and identify new ways WEG products can help. You share insights with internal groups to build technical solutions.

Identify new technical needs

You find gaps, challenges or product needs that require deeper review. You coordinate with engineering teams who help validate and design opportunities.

Collaborate across sales teams

You work with managers and engineers across several regions. You support efforts to convert business and establish long term relationships with large OEM accounts.

Manage your sales pipeline

You track all opportunities in assigned markets. You coordinate efforts with groups that do not report directly to you, ensuring progress continues across multiple touchpoints.

Support custom solutions

You work with product managers and application engineers to shape custom features or services needed for unique customer applications.

Review financial metrics

You study sales data and financial results. You identify where improvements are needed and forecast future revenue. You share insights through reports and presentations.

Stay informed on market trends

You learn the needs of each OEM segment and study competitor solutions. You monitor technology changes and industry behavior to support better planning.

Experience and education

You need at least six years of related experience. A background in automation products is strongly preferred.

You should understand variable frequency drives, soft starters, controls, circuit protection products and industrial control panels. You should know how OEM customers operate and how technical decisions are made inside complex organizations.

You should understand industry technologies, customer expectations and competitor strategies. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a similar field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may also be accepted.
