About the Role
The Senior Account Manager plays a critical leadership role within the agency, responsible for independently managing a portfolio of client accounts while maintaining strong, long-term relationships. This position requires a confident, organized, and strategic professional who understands agency operations and can anticipate client needs. The Senior Account Manager acts as the primary point of contact for clients, ensures that projects are delivered on time and within scope, and works closely with internal teams including creative, marketing, digital, and media planning. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to manage multiple clients and campaigns simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Independently oversee a portfolio of client accounts, serving as the primary liaison between clients and the agency.
- Develop and strengthen client relationships to ensure retention, satisfaction, and ongoing partnership growth.
- Collaborate closely with creative teams, marketing specialists, digital strategists, and media planners to deliver cohesive and effective campaigns.
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to help shape innovative marketing strategies for senior living and other industries supported by the agency.
- Monitor campaign performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization, improvement, or expansion.
- Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and budgets, ensuring that each campaign is executed efficiently and meets client expectations.
- Conduct regular client meetings to provide status updates, gather feedback, and reinforce strategic direction.
- Manage multi-disciplinary internal teams and ensure smooth communication across departments.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, especially within senior living marketing, to support client advisement and campaign strategy.
- Ensure agency processes, communication, and documentation are followed through project management tools such as Function Point, Basecamp, Asana, or Monday.
Qualifications
- 8 or more years of experience in account management within a marketing or advertising agency.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in senior living marketing is preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to manage and retain multiple client accounts simultaneously while leading cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency using a Mac-based workspace, Google Suite, Zoom, and agency project management tools.
