Main Role
The Manager, Accounting oversees daily accounting tasks, guides the month-end and year-end close, and works directly with senior financial leaders. You help maintain the general ledger, review accounts, support audits, and guide a small team to meet deadlines. You help shape a reliable process that supports the company’s operations in the United States and abroad.
You help ensure that financial data is correct and that each task follows US GAAP. You support the global accounting group and work with auditors to prepare documents needed for tax and annual reviews. You guide two team members and help them grow through training, feedback, and steady coaching.
Monthly and Year-End Close
Your work includes guiding and coordinating the close process. You check that all tasks are complete on time and that each step follows the company’s standards. You help ensure that journal entries, reviews, and reports remain consistent with accounting rules.
You guide the team through month-end and year-end steps, making sure deadlines are met without error. You help prepare schedules, review balances, and confirm that all entries are correct.
Core Accounting Work
You manage daily tasks tied to cash reviews, commissions, royalties, and journal entries. You help track intercompany activity and confirm that all posted transactions match the ledger. You help maintain fixed assets and track changes that affect the balance sheet. You also support payroll entries and confirm that reconciliations are completed with accuracy.
You guide sales tax reports and help review codes tied to products. You support tax payments and confirm that updates align with current rules.
Reconciliations
You own the reconciliation process for assigned accounts. You check that each account is correct and that differences are found and resolved. You support journal reclass steps when needed to correct balances. You help maintain a structure that keeps accounts updated and clear.
Financial Analysis
You support special projects when senior leaders need help reviewing trends, cost shifts, or revenue changes. You provide insight through simple analysis so leaders can make informed decisions. You help prepare documents that support planning or project reviews.
Audits and Tax Support
You assist with year-end tax packages and help prepare details for auditors. You gather documents, check schedules, and support reviews needed for compliance. You help maintain internal controls and confirm that the accounting team follows documented procedures.
Leadership and Team Support
You guide two staff members in daily tasks. You help set clear expectations, offer feedback, and encourage development. You hold the team to high standards for accuracy, timing, and consistency. You also reinforce the company’s internal controls and accounting policies.
Skills Needed
