Role Overview

The Account Executive will identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within hospitals, laboratories, and healthcare systems. This role requires a hunter mindset and strategic approach to sales, balancing new account acquisition with relationship management to expand Abbott’s diagnostics footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive new business acquisition by identifying and developing opportunities in the assigned territory. • Manage the full sales cycle, working with decision-makers to provide solutions using Abbott’s Core Diagnostics portfolio. • Build strong relationships across multiple stakeholders, including Laboratory staff, procurement, medical directors, clinical engineering, and C-suite executives. • Collaborate with Enterprise Account Managers to secure business in larger hospital systems. • Understand client goals, quantify the impact of Abbott solutions, and tailor strategies to maximize client performance. • Track market trends, competitor activity, and account performance to refine sales tactics.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant sales experience. • Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in capital equipment or multi-stakeholder sales. • Proven track record of new business development and closing deals in a complex sales environment. • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of capital sales experience in healthcare or multi-stakeholder environments. • Experience developing and selling customized solutions to senior laboratory leadership and C-suite executives. • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze healthcare market data. • Demonstrated success exceeding sales targets or turning around underperforming territories. • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
