Main responsibilities
Lead full system architecture
You design the overall architecture across services, pipelines and AI features. You define how components connect and how events flow through the platform. You ensure that the system supports fast responses, clean data paths and reliable operation.
Define APIs and data contracts
You outline the interfaces that connect teams and systems. You maintain clarity on request and response structures. You document event flows so data teams and backend teams stay aligned.
Guide engineering standards
You set coding rules, maintain quality checks and review pull requests. You help engineers improve code structure, testing habits and clarity. You support a strong engineering culture built on simplicity, reliability and shared understanding.
Support tradeoffs for delivery
You make decisions that protect the delivery timeline. You choose simple and stable options that keep core quality intact. You explain tradeoffs to the team so everyone understands the reasoning.
Work with the project manager
You align technical work with the project plan. You help define sequence, highlight dependencies and reduce risk. You make sure engineering tasks support planned milestones.
Drive key system qualities
You ensure the platform meets standards for speed, security, observability and reliability. You guide the team on performance testing. You maintain logs, traces and metrics that help detect and solve issues early.
Must-have skills
You need at least four years of experience building backend systems in production. You must have strong architecture skills in distributed systems and cloud deployment.
