Role Overview

The Oil Sales & Market Development Manager focuses on expanding sales channels for recycled transformer oil processed across Emerald Transformer’s facilities. Responsibilities include identifying and managing buyers, monitoring market trends, and aligning production with profitable market opportunities. This role works closely with facility managers, purchasing teams, and sales to ensure sustainable and commercially viable oil distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies to sell recycled transformer oil and dielectric fluids in domestic and international markets. • Identify, qualify, and manage buyers including re-refiners, blenders, utilities, industrial manufacturers, chemical processors, and brokers. • Assess facility processing capabilities and oil specifications to match products with appropriate markets. • Monitor facility throughput, oil volumes, and market conditions. • Track competitor activity, pricing trends, and optimize margins. • Collaborate with sales and service teams to balance inbound feedstock and outbound sales. • Negotiate pricing, terms, and offtake agreements. • Maintain sales forecasts and inventory movement reports. • Support environmental compliance and maintain documentation for oil transfers and deliveries. • Build and maintain relationships with regional and national buyers; attend industry events and trade shows. • Identify opportunities for product enhancement or process improvements to increase recovered oil value. • Maintain CRM data, track customer performance, and produce monthly commercial performance summaries.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Proven honesty, reliability, and strong work ethic. • Ability to perform light physical work and exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally. • Willingness to travel up to 15%. • Minimum 5+ years of experience in sales, supply, or commercial management in industries such as transformer oil, used oil recycling, lubricants, base oils, petroleum, waste management, or environmental services. • Experience in commodity or feedstock sales is strongly preferred. • Strategic thinking to link technical process capability with market demand. • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.). • Strong contract negotiation skills and customer relationship management.
