Role overview

The Manager, Workday HCM Services leads a team of Workday professionals who support and improve the Human Capital Management system. This role ensures that the HCM module meets business needs across departments while following best practices and internal standards.

You will serve as the main escalation point for complex issues and guide planning for system updates, enhancements, and releases. You will work closely with other Workday leaders, technology teams, and department heads to align priorities and timelines.

This role also includes people management responsibilities. You will hire, coach, and support team members while ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality Workday services.

Key responsibilities

Partner with technology and Workday teams to support system setup, configuration, reporting, and data loads.
Support integrations and help manage integration design and updates.
Oversee security roles, user access, and permission changes.
Plan for system updates, new features, and upgrades, including testing and approval steps.
Ensure all changes follow quality standards and change control processes.

Manage the Workday HCM roadmap in coordination with department leaders.
Review and prioritize change requests, fixes, enhancements, and release testing tasks.
Balance short-term needs with long-term system planning.

Serve as a trusted partner to department heads and senior leaders.
Translate business needs into clear system solutions.
Support complex projects from planning through completion.

Oversee new Workday HCM features and tools from setup to launch.
Look for ways to simplify processes and reduce errors.
Improve system usability and data reliability for end users.

Lead and support the Workday HCM Services team.
Assign work, set expectations, and review progress.
Handle hiring, performance reviews, and professional development.
Build a supportive and accountable team environment.

Required experience and skills

At least five years of hands-on Workday HCM experience.
Strong background in configuration, reporting, and system support.
Experience contributing to long-term Workday planning efforts.
Ability to identify complex system issues and resolve them effectively.
Strong collaboration skills when working with technical teams and business leaders.

People leadership experience

At least three years of experience managing or leading others is preferred.
Comfort providing feedback, coaching, and support.
Ability to guide a team through change while maintaining trust and clarity.

Preferred qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Workday HCM certifications, such as HCM Core, Report Builder, or Business Process.
Strong knowledge of Workday modules including Core HR, Payroll, Talent, and Time Tracking.
Experience working with external Workday partners or consultants.
