About the Role

The Hospitalist manages inpatient care from start to finish. You evaluate patients, set treatment plans and carry out needed procedures. You also work closely with specialists and other care teams. Clear communication with patients and families is a key part of the role.

You help maintain accurate records, take part in hospital committees and follow all care standards. The work requires strong judgment, clinical skill and the ability to manage many patients in a busy setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and set treatment plans
• Order and review diagnostic tests
• Perform medical procedures when needed
• Lead patient care across the hospital and coordinate with specialists
• Track patient progress and adjust plans as needed
• Talk with patients and families about care decisions
• Keep medical records accurate and current
• Join hospital committees and quality programs
• Follow laws and hospital policies

Qualifications

• MD, DO or foreign equivalent
• Completed residency in Internal Medicine from a U.S. accredited program
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• New York State medical license
• Active DEA registration or eligibility
• Medicare and Medicaid enrollment or eligibility
• Strong communication and bedside skills
• Able to use EMR systems and Microsoft Office
• ACLS and BCLS certification
• One to three years of inpatient experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges from $240,000 to $260,000 yearly. The package includes malpractice coverage, paid time off, CME days with an allowance, retirement benefits and other options. Loan forgiveness may be available through state or federal programs. Visa sponsorship may be considered.
