Key duties

You will take full ownership of product quality and customer concerns. You will guide how the site prevents defects, handles non conformances and improves daily work.

Your tasks include
• Find the causes of scrap and rework, then remove them with clear actions.
• Work with shop floor teams to study failure modes and improve results.
• Set easy to follow quality rules for shop floor staff.
• Process non conformances from incoming checks or in process checks.
• Support failure analysis with the service team and share useful data.
• Build a simple plan to fix customer quality issues on time.
• Drive CAPA across teams so fixes stay in place.
• Join early prototype stages to confirm customer needs are met.
• Prepare and submit First Article reports for customers.
• Define inspection rules, frequency and sampling for internal work and sub tiers.
• Improve supplier performance so materials meet standards.
• Keep the QMS in line with ISO 9001:2015.
• Make sure customer responses, reports and data are sent on time.
• Manage source inspections and schedule them.
• Complete customer surveys and forms related to quality.
• Offer support for customers in different time zones.
• Travel up to 10 percent when needed, domestic or international.
• Promote Safety, Lean Kaizen and 5S across the site.
• Handle other tasks as part of the management team.

You will lead Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, Quality Associates, Supervisors and Inspectors.

Required background

Boyd needs someone with strong technical training and solid experience in manufacturing.

What you need
• A BS degree in a technical field and at least eight years in a quality role.
• Prior work with sheet metal, fabrication, welding, brazing, refrigeration, assembly, electrical and test processes.
• Experience owning product quality and running a QMS.
