Job Description
To ensure and improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Tool room department in meeting delivery of customer orders and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
Timeous delivery of production toolage requirements and timeously executing external customer orders.
Ensuring toolage is produced to specified dimensional and finish standards.
Ensuring correct materials identification and proper storage.
Ensuring that toolage is delivered from the Toolroom in line with customer requirements and Shepco BMA promises.
Ensuring that manufacturing processes are performed at the lowest possible cost.
Supervision and training of junior personnel and Shop Assistants.
Accurate reports to the Chargehand, Supervisor and Management
Maintaining highest levels of tradesmanship in the Tool room
Ensuring housekeeping is done to maintain cleanliness and order in the work area.
Ensuring optimum consumables usage, especially tool steels, oils, cutting tools, grinding stones, etc.
Executing any other duties that may be assigned to him/her from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
An Apprenticeship trained Class One Certificate in Turning and Machining
At least two years’ post qualification experience
Be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision.
Goal-oriented and results driven who is able to work both independently and within a team environment.
