Job Description

We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Stores Controller to manage inventory and store operations. The ideal candidate will ensure stock accuracy, effective warehouse management, and coordination between departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

Receive and inspect incoming goods
Verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices
Label and store items in appropriate locations
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory databases
Issue materials and supplies to departments upon request
Monitor stock levels and notify management of low stock
Conduct regular stocktaking and inventory audits
Ensure proper storage conditions and handling of goods
Update bin cards and stock registers regularly
Prepare and submit stock reports to supervisors
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storeroom
Follow safety and security procedures in storage areas
Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
Coordinate with procurement and other departments on stock needs
Dispose of or return damaged or expired items as per policy

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma or Degree in Stores Management, Supply Chain, or related field
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role
Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g. Pastel, SAP, QuickBooks, Odoo)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Knowledge of warehouse safety and stock control best practices
Familiarity with steel materials, fittings, and industrial supplies
High level of integrity and attention to detail
Very good with numbers
