Job Description

The Green Economy and Just Jobs Inspirator will strengthen the capacity of partners and youth networks to deliver green skills development, advocate for just labour practices in the green economy, and facilitate youth access to sustainable green employment opportunities. The role includes youth-led curriculum development, conducting trainings on green skills development, policy advocacy, and establishing partnerships with private sector actors.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Inspirator will strengthen the capacity of partners and movement leaders to:
Deliver high-quality green skills development through Green Village Hubs (GVHs) and support youth-driven curriculum development.
Facilitate the development of a tracking tool to assess government’s efforts in integrating the green jobs agenda into national, provincial and district policy mechanisms
Advocate for and monitor fair labour practices, social protection, and rights for young workers in green sectors, ensuring that ‘green’ jobs are truly ‘just’ jobs through facilitating multi sectoral policy dialogue at national and local level and undertaking feminist research on green jobs initiatives in Zimbabwe- referencing Mbire, Chipinge, Chimanimani and Binga.
Champion decent work standards within the green economy framework through developing youth led campaigns, enhancing networking and engaging with relevant government agencies.
Support youth mobilization and organizing focused on labour rights and economic justice within the Just Transition framework.
Providing young people with business development support through identifying potential partners that can finance the start ups /innovative initiatives
Creating and facilitating platforms for young people to engage with the private sector, investors and donors supporting green enterprises
Establishing partnerships and linking young people with the private sector for green jobs internships, attachments and placements

Qualifications and Experience

A relevant tertiary qualification in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Resilient Livelihoods, Business Development, or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent professional experience
Experience in vocational training, skills development, youth engagement, and labor rights advocacy.
Knowledge of green economy, Just Transition frameworks, and sustainable livelihoods.
Strong facilitation, coaching, analytical, and communication skills.
Fluency in English and any other local languages.
