Transformation, B-BBEE & Employment Equity Specialist
What You’ll Do
- The Transformation, B-BBEE & Employment Equity Specialist is responsible for driving, managing, and reporting on BCG South Africa’s transformation agenda, with specific accountability for Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) and Employment Equity (EE) compliance and outcomes.
- The role ensures that BCG South Africa meets its statutory obligations, supports the firm’s inclusive growth and transformation objectives, and maintains strong governance, data integrity, and audit readiness in line with regulatory and client expectations.
Overall Scope
- Own end-to-end B-BBEE and Employment Equity management for BCG South Africa
- Act as the internal subject-matter expert on transformation legislation and best practice
- Partner closely with People, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Risk and Leadership
- Manage external verification agencies, auditors and relevant regulators
- Ensure transformation efforts are credible, defensible, and aligned to BCG values
Key Responsibilities
A. Transformation & B-BBEE Management
- Own and manage the annual B-BBEE scorecard end to end
- Coordinate inputs across Ownership (where applicable), Management Control, Skills Development, Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD), and Socio-Economic Development (SED)
- Track performance against B-BBEE targets and identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities
- Prepare transformation dashboards, leadership updates, and formal reporting
- Support leadership with fact-based insights on transformation performance and trade-offs
- Ensure alignment between transformation objectives and firm-wide DEI priorities.
- Manage B-BBEE advisors, service providers and relationship with Ownership partner
- Manage the skills development pillar including learnerships, the workplace skills plan and the YES program when required.
- Improve cost-efficiency of B-BBEE related spend
B. Employment Equity
- Manage the Employment Equity function in line with the Employment Equity Act
- Draft, implement, monitor, and update the Employment Equity Plan
- Prepare and submit statutory EEA2 and EEA4 reports
- Support Employment Equity Committee processes, including agendas, data analysis, and minutes
- Analyze workforce demographics and highlight representation risks
- Prepare and implement the Workplace Skills Plan
- Partner with People teams to support equitable hiring, promotion, and development practices
- Manage integration between global DEI priorities and local regulatory requirements and transformation objectives
C. Governance, Compliance & Audit Readiness
- Ensure compliance with the B-BBEE Act, Codes of Good Practice, and Employment Equity Act
- Act as primary point of contact for B-BBEE verification agencies and the Department of Employment and Labour
- Prepare and manage B-BBEE verification audits, including evidence packs, data validation, audit queries, and close-out
- Maintain accurate, auditable documentation and records
- Ensure compliance certificate is obtained
D. Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships across People, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Risk and Leadership
- Translate technical legislative requirements into clear, practical guidance
- Support leadership discussions with credible data and clear narratives
- Manage relationships with external advisors, verification agencies and service providers
E. Reporting, Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain robust transformation and compliance reporting
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting B-BBEE and EE
- Proactively assess business impact and recommend adjustments
- Contribute to sustainable, meaningful transformation practices beyond minimum compliance

What You’ll Bring
Experience & Capabilities
Experience
- University Degree in related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in Transformation, B-BBEE and/or Employment Equity
- Proven hands-on experience managing B-BBEE verification processes
- Experience in a professional services, financial services, or complex corporate environment preferred
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice
- Strong working knowledge of the Employment Equity Act and reporting requirements
- Strong data management, analytical, and reporting capability
- High attention to detail and documentation quality
