Requirements
- Diploma or Graduate Diploma in Fire Technology / Level 3 Diploma in Fire Science, Operations, Fire Safety and Management / Graduate Membership Certificate OR Fire Officer 3 Certificate, Fire Inspector 2 Certificate, Plans Examiner 2 Certificate and Operations Division (ICS) Certificate with Advanced First Responder (in-dated) or higher level registered with HPCSA
- Seven (7) years’ operational experience of which three (3) years must be a Supervisory level of a Platoon Commander
- Computer Literacy
- Physically Fit
- A valid driver’s license
- No criminal record
Key Performance Areas
- Managing a Fire Station consisting of three platoons and related functions with the City of Cape Town.
- Planning response mechanisms and fire safety activities to deal with and prevent fire and emergency incidents.
- Manage and control staff at a Fire Station consisting of three platoons.
- Managing training and skills development and the transfer of skills and knowledge.
- To undertake related and general administrative tasks / duties.
- Manage and controls outcomes associated with utilisation, productivity and performance of personnel within the division.
- Managing and monitoring Cost Centres and general ledger expenditure so as to ensure compliance the MFMA requirements.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS TO THE POSITION:
- Required to work at any Fire Station or section within the Area ofjurisdiction as determined by the Chief Fire Officer.
- Interchangeable with other functions i.e. Operations, Fire and Life Safety, Planning, Logistics and Technical Services and Training, as and when required by the Chief Fire Officer.
