Qualifications:

• Diploma in Shipping/Supply Chain & Logistics (NQF 6)
• Degree (an advantage)

Experience:

• Mininum of 1 or more years’ experience in a shipping environment specifically in exports or Imports.

Specific knowledge requirements:

• Microsoft Office & SAP Proficient.
• Administration in a logistics/shipping – export/imports environment.
• Basic knowledge of foreign exchange.
• Proven knowledge of South African Reserve bank rules/legislation.
• Strong administrative skills.

Summary description of role:

• Keeps air, sea and road freight imports/exports registers updated.
• Keep abreast of the new legislation regarding exportation and importation issued by SARB and any changes to the Incoterms.
• Administrates the shipping process for all imports/exports.
• Assisting freight consultants.
• Liaise with customer & Finance regarding Letters of Credit or Bank Guarantees.
• Arranging logistics for parts and components.
• Liaising with stakeholders in the process when parts are ready for dispatch.
• Obtaining and checking invoices (foreign vendor, clearing agent).
• Monitors the progress of deliveries vs due dates.
• Checks and verifies correctness of parts and that all documentation is correct and complete with the necessary authorizations.
• Arranges logistics for parts and components being imported.
