Service Technician – Grootegeluk – Kathu
Your mission as a Service Technician
- As a Service Technician, you will drive the success of the Epiroc Surface Drill Rigs product line by leveraging deep technical expertise and a commitment to excellence.
What you’ll do
- Provide specialized support for Epiroc machine systems, including automation technologies.
- Perform scheduled services and breakdown repairs on Epiroc RCS and equipment.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
- Coach Epiroc and mine site employees on operating, troubleshooting, and repairing Epiroc autonomous and other equipment systems.
- Perform fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Promote and market Field Service work, as well as other Aftermarket services and products, to customers to support the growth of the Aftermarket Department.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives to identify recurring failures and collaborate with the Product Company to develop sustainable solutions.
- Liaise with Epiroc Product Company Engineering representatives to enhance product development.
- Assist with spare parts inquiries and participate in on-site stocking activities as needed.
- Report to management regarding any issues affecting Epiroc equipment performance.
What you’ll bring
- In-depth technical knowledge of Epiroc Surface Rotary Blasthole Drills.
- Minimum of 2 years of mining industry experience.
- Grade 12 and a Trade Qualification (Millwright will be advantageous)
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for Remote Control Systems (RCS).
- Experience with Trimble High Precision GPS systems.
- Expertise in automation implementation is advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting all drill systems.
Who you are
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and uphold Epiroc standards.
- Valid driver’s license.
