• We are looking for an experienced Rigger Operator for our Fittershop – Engineering to contribute to the efficient assembly and installation of marine equipment and structures by specializing in the precise and safe positioning of heavy machinery, components, and ship modules using a variety of rigging techniques and equipment.

• Department: Engineering Workshop
• Location: South Arm Road, V&A Waterfront

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Carry out rigging and lifting operations for machinery, equipment and materials
• Assist the chargehand in effectively ensuring that work conditions on the vessel are safe to carry out operations.
• Provide clear and accurate updates throughout ongoing projects to the Artisan/ Chargehand/ Foreman
• Report to Artisan or Chargehand upon completing the job to conduct testing’s for defects.
• Must know the sizes of all slings and shackles
• Safely operate and maintain company equipment
• Assist with general site duties as required
• Perform a comprehensive inspection of all spares stored in the inventory room.
• Effectively perform hands-on evaluations of defective tools

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 3 years diesel fitting experience within marine industry
• Proven experience as a Rigger Operator
• Trade Test Qualification

• Must be punctual and reliable, positive attitude
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Work well in a team and follow instructions
