Description

• Prepare and process biological samples for molecular analyses.
• Ensure proper documentation, labelling, and safe handling of specimens and reagents in accordance with laboratory standards.
• Assist with curatorial tasks for insect collection.
• Conduct preliminary sorting specimens into taxonomic units.
• Assist with field sampling trips, including trap setting, monitoring, and specimen collection.
• Provide support during training sessions, outreach activities, and exhibitions related insects.
• Ensure compliance with GRAP 103 and standards of the Natural Science Collection Facility (NSCF).

Requirements

• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Entomology or a related field.
• At least 2 years relevant work experience, including insect data collection, processing, and capturing.
• Experience in report writing and presentations.
• Proficiency in English.
• A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
