Job Requirements
Professor

• Doctoral degree in Horticulture or related fields
• At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field
• At least 15 articles published in accredited journals, Chapters in a book and book publication
• Evidence of supervision of at least four Master or Doctoral students
• Mentoring and coaching of junior staff

Associate Professor:

• Doctoral degree in Horticulture or related discipline
• At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field.
• At least 10 articles published in accredited journals, Chapters in a book and book publication
• Evidence of supervision of at least four Masters/ Doctoral students

Job summary:

 The candidate will be required to:

• Lecture of students
• Initiate, find funding for, perform and publish research
• Supervise Honours, Masters and PhD students
• Engage in community projects
• Assist the department in developing and improving its curricula
• Take part in departmental strategic planning workshops
• Perform administrative tasks if required by the HoD
