National Programmes Trainer (Fixed Term Contract)

Job Description

  • The DO MORE FOUNDATION inspires collaborative partnerships with a vision of “creating better tomorrows for the young children of South Africa through partnerships.”
  • The Foundation places the young child at the centre of its programmes and initiatives with the belief that if you can impact and uplift the life of a young child, you will in turn impact the household, which will ultimately positively affect the community.
  • Households and communities are therefore seen as its key developmental partners as the Foundation increases their capacity to better meet the needs of young children through projects directed at food security, youth development, economic development, and specific early childhood development initiatives.
  • The Foundation is looking for a dynamic, organized National Programmes Trainer (12 months Fixed Term Contract) to support the implementation of its home-grown national programmes and special projects in communities across South Africa.

These programmes include but are not limited to:

  • EAT LOVE PLAY TALK
  • ELPT in businesses
  • ELPT Master Training support in communities, with a specific focus on the ELPT initiative in Hammarsdale.
  • DUPLO P
  • R4P Training (new content roll out)
  • Read and Play at Home and
  • Other programmes as required
  • The successful candidate will serve as a critical link between programme facilitation on the ground, the national programme coordination desk and the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) portfolios, contributing to both field-based activities and data-driven reporting activities.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Education, Social Science, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in training, facilitation skills, or programme implementation within the development sector.
  • Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks, data cleaning, and reporting.
  • Experience with nutrition, parent support and/or early learning programmes in groups is advantageous.

Other key skills we are looking for:

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication abilities (oral and written) in English. Proficiency in other South African languages is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with MEL software and databases is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Development, community engagement, and developmental issues is a strong advantage.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

Programme Facilitation:

  • Support the coordination and logistics confirmation are in order for training in communities, busnies ect.
  • Communicate regularly with NP Specialist to create and implement training schedule
  • Deliver high-quality training sessions for national programmes including ELPT (SERITI & Community & business), DUPLO training, and Repurpose for Purpose Early Learning Training.
  • Facilitate ELPT initiatives in business and community settings, with a focus on Hammarsdale.
  • Support the implementation of “Read and Play at Home” and other initiatives if needed initiatives.
  • Involvement in DMF activation campaigns as needed
  • Participate all train the trainer opportunities as part of role preparation.
  • Participate all Virtual ELPT Master Training and supervision
  • Regular feedback and reflections on role and training outcomes.

Coordination and Logistics:

  • Collaborate and confirm with the National Programmes Specialist to organize training logistics, including scheduling, venue setup, and material preparation.
  • Be responsible for the distribution the Foundation’s training resources as allocated and ensure effective deployment across communities for training
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Support:
  •   Training and Programme Monitoring: Document training outcomes for national and community programmes through structured feedback, audio-visual recordings, and impact tracking tools.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Capture, clean, and organize data for MEL frameworks, including programme-specific pre- and post-test results, ad hoc requests, and quarterly reporting needs.
  • Impact Analysis and Insights: Compile reports highlighting key outcomes and recommendations from training and community activities.
  • Digital Tools and Systems: Onboard chatbot users, track monthly data submissions, and manage programme photo archives.
  • Support for Qualitative Data: Sort and clean qualitative data, including Duplo feedback and certificates for programme participants.

Community Engagement:

  • Build relationships with community stakeholders to ensure programme alignment with local needs and priorities. (Community programmes, SERITI, RCL business sites)
  • Act as a Foundation ambassador, promoting the vision and values of the DO MORE FOUNDATION.
  • Travel required Nationally including rural areas.
