- The purpose of the Millwright position is to maintain plant production equipment, ensuring its reliability and efficiency through preventative and planned maintenance.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct Mechanical and Electrical services and maintenances of machines on site
- Ensures preventive and predictive maintenance is performed
- Ensures Fault finding and handle all Machine Breakdowns, repairs
- Ensures current and accurate record of maintenance
- Ensures all relevant manufacturer modifications and updates are performed/installed
- Be able to do Electrical Fault findings
- Maintains good housekeeping
- Ensures availability of spare parts
- Manages contractors on site
- Ensure all maintenance job cards are attended to timeously.
- Responsible for the efficient running of the Plant machinery, Plant equipment and Building Maintenance
- Assist with new machine installations and upgrade of equipment
- Perform any mechanical/electrical task required
- Do regular inspections
- Must be able to work shifts
- Responsible to report any risks identified for Quality and Food Safety Management where food contact product is produced in the plant.
- Ensure on-going awareness of Quality, Food Safety, Environmental and Health and Safety Management.
- Ensure housekeeping and general areas facilitates a tidy, neat environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Matric (or equivalent).
- N3 Electrical Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering.
- Millwright Trade Test certification.
- 3 years of experience as a Millwright in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing.
- 3 years of experience in a Plastic Packaging environment.
- 3 years of experience in an electro-mechanical environment.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Proficiency in Computer Maintenance Management Systems, preferably D365.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing equipment faults.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance issues.
- High energy levels, discipline, and operational effectiveness.
- Good knowledge of electrical controls, including variable speed drives and motors.
- Basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
