Main Objectives

• To provide efficient HR administrative and basic professional support across the institution. They also support the Senior HR Practitioners in delivering a high-quality and valued HR professional service. 
• The HR Officers operate in a shared service unit, focusing on improving accuracy, ensuring timely service delivery, and promoting consistency and fairness through the uniform application of HR policies and procedures.
• The unit further enhances the employee experience by offering accessible and responsive HR support, while serving as a central hub for HR administration, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across all departments and divisions. The Shared Service Unit reports to the Manager of Recruitment and Staffing.   

The Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree or any relevant NQF level 7 qualification with a major preferably in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources (Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree will be preferred), plus approximately three years’ relevant experience, where such experience includes: –

• Administration with a strong focus on implementing electronic administrative systems and processes.
• At least two years of experience in HR administration within an environment utilising an HR information technology system.
• Implementing structures, systems, and processes to ensure service delivery of a high quality that is valued by others.
• Exposure to most, if not all, areas of HR (for example, Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Training and Development, Remuneration, Performance Management, HR IT systems, and Well-being) will be a considerable advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience in a pressurised, high-volume administrative environment, dealing with a large staff complement (minimum of 1000 employees).
• Previous experience within the Higher Education sector will be an advantage.
