What you’ll be doing
As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:
- Setting Technology Direction: Define, communicate, and execute the team’s technology roadmap in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- User Experience Enhancement: Champion initiatives to improve website usability, accessibility, and overall user experience through innovative technological solutions.
- Affiliate Program Management: Strategize, implement, and manage affiliate programs to expand the reach and revenue generation potential of the website.
- SEO Optimization: Lead the development and execution of SEO strategies to enhance website visibility and organic traffic acquisition.
- Performance Enhancement: Oversee the implementation of performance optimization techniques to ensure fast load times and seamless user experiences.
- Managing Direct Reports: Lead direct reports, including engineering leads, product managers, architects, and agile coaches, by providing mentorship, performance guidance, and professional development.
- Ensuring Delivery & Quality: Oversee project timelines and quality standards, balancing speed with robustness, and ensuring every release meets our objectives.
- Driving Scaled Agile Adoption: Champion Agile methodologies, implementing best practices to improve collaboration and efficiency across all pods.
- Architectural Oversight: Work with architects and engineering leads to review and refine architectures, ensuring alignment, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Resource Allocation & Budgeting: Allocate resources effectively and manage budgets for technology initiatives in coordination with senior leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other Heads of Technology and business units to align strategies, share knowledge, and drive overarching company goals.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to security, compliance, and technical debt while maintaining regulatory and operational standards.
- Promote a High-Performance Culture: Foster a culture of learning accountability and innovation – encouraging feedback loops, retrospectives, and adoption of new technologies where appropriate.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table
The necessary skills that we require for this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, commerce, or a related field.
- 5+ years managing development team(s) or department(s).
- Proven track record in user experience design and enhancement, with a focus on accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and conversion rate optimization.
- Extensive knowledge of SEO techniques, including keyword research, backlink strategies, and content optimization.
- Proficiency in web performance optimization, including experience with CDN implementation, browser caching, and server-side performance enhancements.
- Experience in integrating marketing technologies, such as customer segmentation tools, cross-channel attribution platforms, and marketing automation systems.
- Expertise in managing multiple software development projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope.
- Ability to grasp complex strategy issues and turn this into a technology roadmap.
- Strong understanding of software development, quality assurance, and data engineering principles.
- Proven success in implementing Agile practices at scale (Scrum, SAFe, or similar frameworks).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations
Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve
It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:
- Familiarity with emerging SEO trends and algorithm updates to adapt strategies for optimal search visibility.
- Knowledge of A/B testing and user behavior analysis to inform UX optimizations and website personalization efforts.
- Previous involvement in the design and implementation of successful affiliate marketing campaigns and partnership strategies.
- Familiarity with schema markup, voice search optimization, and local SEO tactics to enhance website visibility.
- Hands-on experience with web performance monitoring tools, server resource optimization, and load balancing techniques.
- Certified SAFe agile practitioner certification
- Relevant product management certification.
- Prior involvement in managing budgets and vendor relationships.
- Additional qualifications in scaled Agile frameworks or relevant professional certifications.
