Group Financial Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • CA(SA)
  • A minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in finance roles
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in people management
  • 3+ years in a senior/group finance position, preferably in automotive, fleet, or rental sectors

Duties & Responsibilities (included but not limited to)

  • Develop and implement group-wide financial strategies aligned with business goals
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
  • Advise executive management on the financial implications of business activities
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Consolidate reports from multiple branches/regions into group-level reporting
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements
  • Analyze cost structures and profitability across car rental branches
  • Monitor and optimize fleet financing, lease agreements, and depreciation
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital, and treasury management
  • Design and enforce financial controls and risk management practices
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit, tax regulations, and corporate governance
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to fleet assets and operations
  • Actively manage the performance of the finance team through the performance management process framework
  • Allocate tasks appropriately and provide support
  • Ensure that all finance team members are supported to maintain excellence in service delivery and have opportunities for professional development
  • Provide timely guidance and feedback to finance team members to ensure that responsibilities and tasks are fulfilled on time
  • Ensure the finance team is compliant with company HR policies and procedures
  • Plan and execute the external audit
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of entity and consolidated annual financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS
  • Liaise with auditors and resolve all their queries
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, insurers, and regulatory bodies
  • Support investor relations and board-level reporting
  • Provide financial insights to support commercial negotiations and strategic decisions
