Foreman (Rope Shovel Section) (7029)
Requirements and qualifications:
- Trade Certificate (Millwright preferred)
- 4 or more years post trade experience in open cast mining enviroment servicing and maintaining rope shovels
- 2 or more years supervisory experience
- Knowledge of and experience in planning, scheduling, and managing projects essential.
- Valid driver’s license a pre-requisite
Knowledge requirements:
- Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Fundamentals of Labour relations Act.
- Basic knowledge of SEIFSA agreements.
- Computer literacy: Excel Basic; SAP basic.
- Knowledge of Komatsu dump trucks( (930E-4&5)
Job Responsibilities:
- Determines detailed priorities with regards to planned work.
- Reports on section/project progress.
- Provides input into the planning of the human capital requirements of the team/section.
- Supervises the team.
- Evaluates team members’ achievement of results against agreed priorities within the performance management framework.
- Provides input into planning the section’s budget.
- Submits staff S&T and overtime / expense claims for approval.
- Communicates changes to policies & procedures to subordinate staff .
- Plans the roll-out of contractual /service level agreements (SLA’s) implementation.
- Resolves issues /problems/conflict in a positive, win-win manner.
- Remains up-to-date with Safety procedures.
- Plans for inspection of equipment (new and used in stock), with regards to dates, workshops, nomination of service, stock, and other resources.
- Schedules, forecasts and plans Repairs and Maintenance in the maintenance planning system.
- Machine inspections.
- Setting the goals for the team.
- Parts and inventory management.
- Responsible for training and development of the team
