Description

• A vacancy exists for a Driver/Services Assistant, reporting to the Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and maintaining a hygienic and safe patient/workplace environment and to ensure availability of resources (equipment, materials and consumables) in the facility at all times, as well as providing a safe and reliable courier and/or passenger transport services in facility.

Critical Outputs

• Complete minor repair work, which includes repairing doors, locks, door frames and handles as well as replacing light bulbs, sockets, switches, and window glass.
• Perform basic plumbing tasks, which includes unclogging drains as well as fixing leaking faucets and toilets.
• Performing and maintaining paint work in the facility.
• Inspecting control panels and electrical wiring to detect any issues that require immediate attention.
• Stock control of maintenance supplies and ordering of low or depleted supplies.
• Promptly responding to requests for emergency repairs and clean-ups.
• Perform routine inspections of facility as delegated by management and address any unreported Maintenance defects.
• Keep company vehicles clean.
• Deliver and collect all items and/or passengers as requested and authorized by Management – obtain proof of delivery.
• Follow rules of the road and always drive within the speed limits.
• Maintain Service records of all vehicles.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any necessary repairs.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent level of education.
• Practical experience in a hospital environment or similar environment is essential.
• Computer proficiency
• Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
• Valid driver’s license.
