Description

• A vacancy exists for a CSSD Assistant reporting to the responsible Unit Manager. The successful candidate will form part of the multidisciplinary team performing nursing activities ensuring quality patient care.

Critical Outputs

• Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Policies and Procedures
• Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by the team leader
• Receiving, checking, packing of sets and sterile loan sets
• Management of linen
• Efficient use of equipment and materials
• Maintain health, safety and infection control standards
• Assist with stock control procedures

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Two years’ experience within the Private Healthcare Sector
• Working knowledge of autoclaves and washing of instruments
• Experience in packing theatre equipment and sets
• Understanding of theatre linen management
• Working knowledge of CSSD stock management
• Must be prepared to work flexible hours
