REQUIREMENTS:

  • Senior Certificate or equivalent plus a Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in / Journalism/ Communication Science/ Marketing/Graphic Design or related field.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ working experience in the field of communication and marketing.
  • A valid driver’s license. Competencies: Applicant must possess the following skills: report writing, verbal and written communication; client orientation and customer focus; problem solving, , planning and organizing.

Attributes:

  • ethical behaviour; honesty and integrity; ability to work effectively under pressure; ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of information and respect copyrights/aversion to plagiarism. Must be prepared to take and implement instructions delegated by supervisors/managers.
  • Proven computer literacy, including advanced MSWord, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience of graphic design, photography, videography, and editing. The incumbent must be willing to travel, work irregular hours and be committed to meeting deadlines within tight timeframes.

DUTIES:

  • Assist with Identification and placement of all print, radio and publication material. Design marketing materials following brand guidelines, including social media graphics, flyers, posters, digital ads and event signage.
  • Develop and produce college publications, i.e. banners, information brochures, annual reports, pamphlets and programme information. Assist with management of public relations and media liaison services.
  • Assist with proof reading and editing of external written publications and articles. Assist in college events including exhibition participation, official functions and special marketing events.
  • Assist with event setup, photography/videography coverage, and post-event promotional content. Content Creation-Create written, visual, and digital content for social media, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with the coordination of media queries and responses as and when required. Track all the positive and negative stories about the college captured on social media platforms/newspapers and forward to the relevant supervisor for official responses where required. Provide graphic design, photographic services and assist in writing stories for the college.
  • Capture visual footage at the events that will form part of the news article. Assist with branding at college events. Take a role of sub-editor of the electronic newsletter subordinates.
  • Assist with, monitoring, evaluation and respond to queries on official social media and online communication platforms. Support social media management by preparing posts, scheduling content, and monitoring engagement.
  • Assist in maintaining the content, design and layout of the college website. Coordinate college events and provide communication administrative support across delivery sites.
  • Oversee the dissemination of electronic and hard copy materials to relevant stakeholders; Ensure document management support and storage of communication materials and equipment.
