Job Description:
- The Department is seeking a candidate who is a proven expert in their field, but also play an important role in teaching, research & publication, and academic self-administration.
- This candidate must have the ability to work to tight deadlines and juggle multiple responsibilities.
- He/she will need to have excellent management knowledge, networking skills, and the ability to build strong professional relationships with both students and colleagues.
- The successful candidate will also participate in academic administration, supervise the research of undergraduate and postgraduate students and develop a productive research programme within their research group.
- As a senior staff member, he or she will also be expected to take part in the strategic planning and decision-making of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Supervising, advising, and mentoring junior staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Participating in faculty and departmental committees.
- Teaching and developing undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the relevant areas of civil engineering.
- Conducting research, publishing papers, and attending conferences.
- Organizing guest seminars and faculty events where students can interact with established industry professionals.
- Source research funds for the departmental research programmes.
- Contributing to academic and departmental administration.
Minimum requirements
- PhD or doctorate degree in civil engineering or related engineering field.
- Extensive teaching experience in an academic setting.
- Distinguished record of research and scholarly achievements.
- Willingness to engage with a range of industry professionals and fellow academics.
- Dedication to excellence in the field of civil engineering.
- A professional attitude and great work ethic
