Advanced Analytics Solution Specialist

Role purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to support the development and expansion of Momentum Corporate’s advanced analytics function. The role focuses on driving and implementing a robust data analytics strategy that informs business decisions across Momentum Corporate, with particular emphasis on machine learning and low-code solution development.

Requirements

  • Degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.
  • 2–5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a financial or business environment.
  • Knowledge of financial products, insurance, and the retirement fund industry (advantageous).
  • Strong programming skills: SQL, Oracle SQL, R or Python.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (advantageous).
  • Experience with ML Ops and tools such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML or similar.

Duties and responsibilities

Internal process

  • Participate in designing solutions to defined problem statements using advanced analytics.
  • Assist and lead projects where required, including identifying processes that can be enhanced through analytics or improved data pipelines.
  • Identify and understand data structures across business databases to support analytics and monitoring activities.
  • Promote reusability, maintainability, reliability, and scalability in data solution development.
  • Recommend software packages that support data engineering, advanced analytics, and process automation.
  • Source data through integration with IT systems, business units or low-code tools.
  • Perform ETL operations for reporting and modelling.
  • Apply machine learning techniques to select features, create models, optimise algorithms, and preprocess structured and unstructured data.
  • Analyse and interpret diverse datasets using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with IT to ensure optimal access and maintenance of analytics environments.
  • Develop frameworks for scenario planning using analytics in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Conduct portfolio analysis and trend investigations to support strategic decisions.
  • Apply strong statistical methods to derive insights, identify risks and highlight opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to promote integrated, analytics-led solutions.
  • Stay updated with advancements in analytics technologies, tools, and platforms.

  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships to promote collaborative, cross-practice solutions.
  • Benchmark externally and participate in relevant forums to sustain competitive advantage.
  • Monitor turnaround times and quality and resolve issues promptly to maintain service excellence.
  • Support a service-driven culture that strengthens relationships across Actuarial, IT and Business teams.
  • Ensure advanced analytics activities align with the Group’s purpose and strategic objectives.
