Job Description

• An exciting vacancy exists at O.R Tambo International Airport for an experienced Senior Technician Civil Maintenance within the Operations Management division.

Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager Civil Maintenance and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

• Input into maintenance planning, scheduling and execution of the asset.
• Ensure safe planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Provide input into the development of maintenance planning programme and execution thereof.
• Utilization of relevant software system.
• Participate in failure investigation and root cause analysis.
• Assist with first line diagnostic, troubleshooting of technical faults.
•  Maintain and/or manage material and spares.
• Ensure implementation of continuous improvement of the equipment/infrastructure.
• Conduct studies and make recommendations on upgrades/replacements of assets.
• Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP’s, operational standards, policies and practices.
• Ensure compliance to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP’s, operational standards, policies and practices.
• Manage Service Level Agreement (maintenance and supply).
• Conduct continuous Audit and quality control (activities and contractual) and implement remedial action where required.
• Determine, as part of cross-functional team, evaluation criteria and participate in evaluation and award of bids / tenders received.
• Prepare, specify, scope of work and technical requirements.
• Provide input to and manage allocated budget.
• Identify cost-saving initiatives within area of control.
• Compile and submit relevant reports.
• Identify and report possible efficiency enhancements and initiatives to ensure resource savings.
• Engage with relevant stakeholders on report findings.
• Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions where required, to ensure achievement of organizational goals.
• Plan, schedule, supervise and coach subordinate activities within processes or services to achieve efficiency and quality goals.
• Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive working environment.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience will be required:

• Bachelor’s Degree Civil is essential
• 5 years operational within Infrastructure Maintenance is essential
• 1-2 years supervisor experience in related projects is recommended
• Code B; Motor vehicle license
• Intermediate proficiency of MS Office packages
• Intermediate SCADA
• Intermediate PLC
