Requirements

• Relevant Technical or Professional Tertiary qualification
• preferably in GIS/ Degree or BTech in Computer Science
• Relevant IT/IS/VMware/GIS courses
• Advanced computer literacy
• A minimum of 5 years relevant post qualifying experience in IT, IS, VMware vSphere, advanced GIS platform management experience
• Experience in IT/IS/VMware/GIS project implementation;
• Systems analysis and design; Geospatial technology;Consultancy.

• Applies a body of professional knowledge coupled with experience to develop and implement a full range of services, programmes, systems, policies and practices associated with an Enterprise GIS hardware platform
• Applies a body of professional knowledge coupled with experience to develop and implement a full range of services, programmes, systems, policies and practices associated with a VMware vSphere virtualisation platform.
• Applies a body of professional knowledge coupled with experience to develop and implement a full range of services, programmes, systems, policies and practices associated with file server Operating Systems and related software platforms
• Applies a body of professional knowledge coupled withexperience to develop and implement a full range of services, programmes, systems, policies and practices associated with data backup, recovery and disaster recovery management
• Applies a body of specialist knowledge, coupled with experience, to implementation, configuration and monitoring GIS and complementary technologies
• Provides guidance in the implementation of GIS technology in the directorate
• Implements specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with a GIS unit, and exchanges functional and operational information on immediate, short and long-term objectives and current developments, problems and constraints
