Description

• Providing research support and performing routine activities under supervision.
• Assisting with data collection.
• Providing verbal/written feedback on work activities to supervisors.
• Adhering to quality, health and safety standards.
• Assisting in maintenance of equipment.
• Communicating with growers and farming staff as part of on-farm research activities where necessary.

Requirements

• Grade 12 with Biology or Agricultural Science as subject.
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a fruit farming or scientific research environment.
• Experience in aspects of soil science and/or soil microbiology will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and work systematically with attention to detail.
• Ability to work physically hard in the field.
• Good communications skills (written and verbal).
• Knowledge of Organizational Health and Safety regulations.
• Computer literacy in MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s licence (Code EB).
