Requirements and Expectations
Minimum Requirements
- A Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in Supply Chain Management (Logistics) will serve as an added advantage.
- The disclosure of a valid, unexpired driver’s license will serve as an added advantage.
- Computer literacy, particularly in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Exchange).
- Basic knowledge of financial operating systems (SAP).
- Understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service and supply chain processes.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and working systems in a government or similar environment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ethical conduct, accountability, and client orientation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide logistics and inventory management support in compliance with Supply Chain Management (SCM) prescripts.
- Render demand and acquisition clerical support and assist with procurement-related documentation.
- Offer logistical support services to ensure effective coordination of SCM functions.
- Administer purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Oversee the goods receipt process, including verification of goods and services received from suppliers.
- Capture goods and service receipt vouchers and issue receivables to responsible components.
- Conduct stocktaking and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Manage the receiving and issuing of stock from the warehouse.
- Administer and update the 0–9 file and expedite open purchase orders.
- Monitor and report on open purchase orders (commitments) and compile commitment disclosures.
- Perform any other administrative duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Note
- Candidates will be required to complete a practical and theoretical test as part of the selection process.
