Requirements and Expectations

Minimum Requirements

  • A Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in Supply Chain Management (Logistics) will serve as an added advantage.
  • The disclosure of a valid, unexpired driver’s license will serve as an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Exchange).
  • Basic knowledge of financial operating systems (SAP).
  • Understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service and supply chain processes.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and working systems in a government or similar environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ethical conduct, accountability, and client orientation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide logistics and inventory management support in compliance with Supply Chain Management (SCM) prescripts.
  • Render demand and acquisition clerical support and assist with procurement-related documentation.
  • Offer logistical support services to ensure effective coordination of SCM functions.
  • Administer purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Oversee the goods receipt process, including verification of goods and services received from suppliers.
  • Capture goods and service receipt vouchers and issue receivables to responsible components.
  • Conduct stocktaking and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Manage the receiving and issuing of stock from the warehouse.
  • Administer and update the 0–9 file and expedite open purchase orders.
  • Monitor and report on open purchase orders (commitments) and compile commitment disclosures.
  • Perform any other administrative duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Note

  • Candidates will be required to complete a practical and theoretical test as part of the selection process.
