Weighbridge Operator
Location: Ikotun, Lagos
Job Summary
- The Weighbridge Operator is responsible for the accurate weighing, recording, and reporting of all vehicles entering and leaving the site with goods or materials.
- The role ensures compliance with company procedures, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to safety standards while maintaining effective communication with drivers, dispatch, and operations staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the weighbridge system to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Record vehicle details, load weights, product types, and driver information into the system.
- Issue weighbridge tickets, delivery notes, and other required documentation.
- Verify all documentation and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, security, dispatch, and warehouse/plant teams.
- Maintain accurate logs and daily/weekly reports of all weighbridge activities.
- Monitor and enforce site health, safety, and environmental regulations for vehicles using the weighbridge.
- Report any discrepancies, suspicious activity, or operational issues promptly to the supervisor.
- Perform basic checks and ensure the weighbridge equipment is properly calibrated and functional.
- Support audits and stock reconciliation processes by providing accurate weighing data.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of weighing records and documentation.
- Compliance with operational and safety procedures.
- Timeliness in processing vehicles.
- Zero discrepancies in reporting/audits.
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of OND/HND in Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, or related field.
- Previous experience as a weighbridge operator or in logistics/warehouse operations preferred.
- Basic IT skills and ability to learn specialized weighing software.
- Familiarity with stock control and logistics processes is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and weighbridge/ERP software systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) procedures.
- Integrity and accountability in handling data and documentation.
Salary
N155,000 – N160,000 Monthly.
