Technical Operator
Summary
- The Technical Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring equipment and processes within theplant to ensure efficient mineral processing and recovery.
- The role ensures that plant operations are carried out safely, effectively, and in accordance with quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate beneficiation plant equipment such as crushers, screens, conveyors, ball mills, hydrocyclones, thickeners, filters, and flotation cells.
- Monitor process parameters (e.g., feed rate, density, flow, pressure, temperature) and make adjustments to optimize plant performance.
- Perform start-up, shut-down, and changeover procedures for process equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any abnormalities, leaks, or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Take and record process samples for quality control and laboratory analysis.
- Support troubleshooting and minor maintenance of processing equipment under supervision.
- Maintain accurate shift logs, equipment performance records, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with the control room, maintenance, and other operators to ensure smooth process continuity.
Qualifications and Skills
- Technical Diploma / Trade Certificate in Mineral Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 2 – 4 years of operational experience in a mine or related industry.
- Strong understanding of process plant operations and mineral separation techniques.
- Ability to operate and adjust process equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with plant instrumentation and control interfaces is an advantage.
- Knowledge of safety standards, PPE usage, and emergency procedures in an industrial environment.
