Surveyor
Job Description
- Conduct topographic, boundary, and layout surveys for farm projects and infrastructure development.
- Prepare accurate maps, site plans, and spatial data for land use planning and farm operations.
- Utilize GPS, total station, drones, and other modern survey equipment to collect field data.
- Analyze and interpret survey data to support construction, irrigation, and land development plans.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure proper land utilization and layout alignment.
- Maintain updated land records, maps, and digital survey data archives.
- Verify land ownership and boundary coordinates to prevent encroachment or disputes.
- Provide surveying input for feasibility studies, expansion projects, and infrastructure designs.
- Ensure all surveying work complies with safety and regulatory standards.
- Train junior staff or field assistants on survey techniques and data collection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying and Geoinformatics, Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 15–20 years of professional experience in land and topographic surveying, preferably in agriculture or construction.
- Proficiency in GPS/GNSS equipment, total stations, and AutoCAD or GIS software.
- Strong understanding of land measurement techniques and Nigerian land regulations.
- Excellent analytical, technical drawing, and data interpretation skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and spatial awareness.
- Thorough understanding and ability to apply methods and standards of technical report writing and computer-assisted surveying applications.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be physically fit and willing to work in the field for extended periods.
- Aptitude in math and problem-solving
- Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently.
- Must be registered
