Role Overview

  • The Sun Books Implementation Manager will oversee the implementation of our Sun Books Project in Nigeria.
  • This role will focus on ensuring that our Sun Books project is effectively implemented through the productive utilisation of our literacy resources in all our project schools.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for literacy improvement among teachers and children of underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities

Sun Books Project Implementation:

  • The effective implementation of our Sun Books Project in all our project schools.
  • The Supervision of teachers and children as they make use of our literacy resources.
  • The teaching and co-teaching of Literacy in the classroom using our structured literacy resources and syllabus
  • Organisation of literacy sessions with learners during free periods
  • Ensure a positive project experience among the teachers and learners we work with.

Performance Tracking & Impact Measurement:

  • Monitor and evaluate the project impact among teachers and learners, ensuring alignment with WLF’s impact goals.
  • Track teachers’ and learners’ progress through ongoing assessments, to identify their literacy needs and optimize program effectiveness.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports to the Project Lead and Global Program Manager on program outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Sound knowledge of TESOL and the overall teaching of Literacy.
  • Proven experience managing literacy projects.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee literacy initiatives.
  • Experience teaching Literacy to vulnerable and marginalised children.
  • Experience training teachers on effective literacy teaching in low-income communities
  • Ability to create and maintain sound relationship with teachers, school heads and administrators.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including public speaking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills to track program impact across schools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global non-profit environment.
