Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in Business Studies, Economics, and Accounting for KS3 and KS4 students.
- Teach according to the British National Curriculum, preparing students for (I)GCSE examinations (e.g., Cambridge IGCSE, or AQA GCSE).
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes interest in learning.
- Assess students’ class work and assignments; keep and maintain assessment records at all times.
- Implement the school’s teaching and learning policy and effectively follow the procedures for assessing, recording, and reporting students’ progress, as well as setting targets for further improvement in line with the whole school policy.
- Ensure safeguarding and protect the welfare of children and young people
- Support students’ development of critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills.
- Monitor and report on student progress regularly.
- Keep subject attendance and updated assessment records at all times.
- Provide learning interventions across all three disciplines for students who require them.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, school training, and whole-school events.
- Contribute to the development of schemes of work and curriculum resources.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Studies, or a closely related field.
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, TRCN)
- Minimum of 6 years proven experience teaching Business Studies, Economics, and/or Accounting at KS3 and KS4 level, preferably within a British curriculum international context.
- A strong track record of achieving excellent student outcomes at (I) GCSE
- Good Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Good understanding of students’ differentiated learning strategies.
- Cambridge qualifications in Business Studies, Economics, and Accounting, and exposure to the IGCSE curriculum would be an added advantage
- A good knowledge of child protection and safeguarding.
