Store Officer

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Availability & Price Verification: Confirm supplier availability and obtain updated pricing and product details before finalizing and dispatching purchase orders.
  • Vendor Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate supplier performance, including reliability, quality of goods, responsiveness, and timely delivery to ensure compliance with agreed terms.
  • Goods Receipt Compliance: Verify that delivered items meet the specified requirements in terms of quality, quantity, pricing, and delivery timeframe before accepting them into inventory. 
  • Outlet Inventory Transfer: Coordinate the accurate and timely transfer of received stock to retail outlets in appropriate quantities, avoiding both understocking and overstocking.
  • Overstock & Shelf Balance Monitoring: Liase with Store Keeper/Inventory Officer at the outlets on weekly basis on shelf balances and overstocks, and advise your line Manager on same to be returns to the warehouse or redistribution to other locations as necessary.
  • Market Research & Price Trend Analysis: Conduct regular market research to monitor emerging product trends, innovations, and price fluctuations. Provide your line Manager with actionable insights and reports.
  • Category Management: Effectively manage your assigned category to ensure product availability, particularly for fast-moving items, thereby preventing stockouts and lost sales.
  • Procurement Cost & Variance Analysis: Perform monthly analyses of procurement costs and identify any variances from budgets or forecasts. Recommend corrective measures where needed.
  • Transparent Procurement Processes: Ensure all procurement activities are conducted with transparency and integrity, and that items are procured at the most competitive prices available.
  • Compliance with Procurement Policy: Ensure that all suppliers and procurement activities strictly adhere to the company’s procurement policies, including quality, pricing, quantity, and delivery requirements.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree / HND with 2 years of experience.
