State Technical Officer
JOB TITLE:
Main duties/responsibilities:
- Management, coordination, and supervision of all TB program activities in the assigned State.
- Provision of managerial and technical support to assigned Faith-based Organisations (FBOs)/ Private-for-profit health facilities (PFPHFs) including Patent Medicine Vendors (PMVs), Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs), etc. in the provision of TB/HIV services.
- Supervising treatment by other health workers in supported FBO/PFPHF and ensuring that the National guidelines are followed.
- Maintaining active collaboration with national, State, and LGAs including non-governmental organizations and voluntary agencies working in the TB/HIV program in the assigned State.
- Organization of periodic reviews and evaluation of partner facilities’ performance.
- Identify community-based structures to drive demand and expansion of TB/HIV services into hard-to-reach areas in communities.
- Participate and facilitate the participation of local FBO/PFPHF in all TB/HIV forums at the local/state level and provide updates as required.
- Ensure integration of local FBOs into the state and LGA-level TB/HIV program and reporting network.
- Deploy job aids and TB resources to health-care workers (HCWs) in facilities and congregate settings within the community.
- Ensure that project reports are developed and submitted timely to the Program Advisor and are of good quality.
- Conduct supportive supervisory visits to TB and HIV service providers in both facilities and community, and prepare and submit reports.
- Work closely with S/TBLS officers and support state TB/HIV Partners’ forum to coordinate partner’s support and implementation of key intervention areas.
- Assist in coordinating the program portfolio to ensure key performance indicators are met and project impact is in line with the strategy.

Requirements/Qualifications: The candidate to be considered must have:
- Possession of a University degree. The candidate must possess a medical degree (MBBS). Master’s degree in public health will be a great advantage.
- Proven work experience as a Program Officer/Technical Officer in a health-based NGO or similar role
- Three to Five years working experience in similar roles
- Familiar with and resident in the project state.
- Experience in working with local communities including conducting health awareness in community settings.
- Understand teamwork and possess good interpersonal skills.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages at least Ms Excel, Ms Word and PowerPoint.
