Job Description

• WorkCentral Nigeria is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead and manage our in-house accounting operations and financial control functions. The ideal candidate will have 4 – 5 years of experience in financial accounting, a solid understanding of Nigerian tax regulations and the ability to take ownership of all day-to-day financial operations. This role supports strategic decision-making by delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring financial integrity across the organization. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, tech-savvy and comfortable working in a fast-paced business support environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and oversee daily accounting operations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing and statutory deductions
• Perform monthly bank and cash reconciliations and monitor company cash flow
• Take full ownership of financial control including budget management, cost control and variance analysis
• Lead annual budgeting and support financial forecasting activities
• Ensure timely compliance with FIRS, LIRS and other regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed
• Maintain the fixed asset register and manage depreciation schedules
• Review and improve internal accounting processes, policies and control.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4–5 years of hands-on accounting experience in a structured business environment
• Professional certification (ICAN or ACCA) is mandatory
• Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, accounting standards and reporting regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Excel or Sage)
• Strong analytical and financial reporting skills
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity
• Ability to work independently and provide financial insight to management.
