Sales / Marketing Officer

Job Purpose

  • The Sales/Marketing Officer will be responsible for driving sales, building strong customer relationships, and implementing marketing strategies to increase the company’s visibility and revenue.
  • The role focuses on acquiring new clients (restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and individuals), retaining existing ones, and promoting the company’s foodstuff offerings in a competitive Nigerian market.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with restaurants, hotels, caterers, and individual customers.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing clients to ensure repeat business.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals with clients.

Marketing & Promotion:

  • Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns to promote products and services.
  • Use social media, digital platforms, and traditional marketing channels to drive customer engagement.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, sampling, and customer education when required.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence on competitors, pricing, and trends.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve client concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a customer database (CRM) and ensure proper follow-up on leads and prospects.
  • Collect customer feedback to improve service and product offerings.

Reporting & Collaboration:

  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly sales and marketing reports.
  • Work closely with procurement and operations teams to ensure product availability and timely deliveries.
  • Support the development of promotional materials and brand visibility activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2years’ experience in sales/marketing, preferably in FMCG, food distribution, or hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian foodstuff market and customer segments.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Experience in digital marketing and social media promotion is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong sales, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of marketing strategies (both traditional and digital).
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • High level of integrity and customer-centric mindset.

Working Conditions:

  • Field-based role with frequent client visits and market engagements.
  • Office-based reporting and planning.
  • May require occasional inter-state travel.
