QHSE Officers

Location: Plateau state & Niger State

Reports to:  QHSE Coordinator

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Assists the Group and Local QHSE Representatives on the internal audits.
  2. Assists the Local QHSE Coordinator in the administrative work.
  3. Collect data from relevant department, updates the QHSE weekly report(s) and other reports and communicate them to the Group QHSE with respect to the deadlines.
  4. Prepares and delivers weekly QHSE awareness sessions.
  5. Submits a weekly report to the Local QHSE Supervisor / Country Head summarizing completed, current and planned activities.
  6. Generates Reports and submits them to the Direct Supervisor and Group QHSE on the performance of the IMS and suggest improvement when needed.
  7. Consolidates Total Waste of all the departments within the operation.
  8. Consolidates total chemical product being used in all the departments and ensures they are using recycled products where feasible.
  9. Minimizes raw material usage.
  10. Suggest safety instructions, procedures and policies when needed.
  11. Conducts in coordination with the QHSE Representatives regular inspections to assess environmental and health & safety plan adherence as well as identify potential hazards and risks and ensures safe work practices are being followed.
  12. Communicates and documents corrective actions.
  13. Undertakes regular inspections of the workplace (office, Site, Factory) premises to identify any potential hazards.
  14. Ensures the implementation of all policies and procedures in all i engineering operations.
  15. Keeps track and evidence of calibration of tools and equipment.
  16. Follows up on Spot Audits when requested.
  17. Makes sure that a risk assessment is conducted on every site in all operations.
  18. Follows up with every department to make sure that it has an updated Risk Assessment.
  19. Ensures Compliance Sheets are being updated.
  20. Ensures that inductions and toolbox meetings are conducted on every site of i engineering.
  21. Demonstrates problem solving, conflict management, and team building skills to ensure a productive work environment and achievement of goals.
  22. Ensures all employees have access to SharePoint.
  23. Submits related reports to the Country Head, Group and Local QHSE Representatives when required.
  24. Improves employee environmental awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  1. 0-1 year of relative work experience.
  2. Ability and willingness to travel within the state or domestically up to 50% of the time.
  3. An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning.
  4. Ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact.
  5. Excellent presentation and communication skills
