Project Planner
Position Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Planner with a strong background in the Oil & Gas industry.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment of project timelines with execution strategies.
- Monitor progress, identify variances against baseline schedules, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays.
- Prepare and issue weekly and monthly project planning reports including progress curves, manpower histograms, and earned value analysis.
- Interface with subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to collect planning data and update schedules accordingly.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and advise management on potential impacts and mitigation strategies.
- Support project cost control by integrating schedule with budget and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, company standards, and Oil & Gas industry best practices.
- Participate in project review meetings and present schedule performance and forecasts to management and clients.
- Train and mentor junior planners and support staff on planning tools and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- Minimum of10 years’ proven experienceas a Project Planner in the Oil & Gas sector (EPC, offshore, subsea, or related projects).
- Advanced proficiency inPrimavera P6and MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of project planning principles, critical path analysis, earned value management (EVM), and resource leveling.
- Familiarity with Oil & Gas project lifecycle: FEED, EPC, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Membership of a professional body (e.g., PMI, AACEI) is an added advantage.
