Project Monitoring Officer

Job Summary:

The Project Monitoring Officer will be responsible for overseeing, tracking, and ensuring the efficient execution of construction and infrastructure projects under the Black Pelican Group. The role focuses on monitoring timelines, quality standards, budgets, risks, and contractor performance to ensure all projects align with the company’s strategic objectives and industry best practices. This individual will act as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, consultants, and management, providing timely reports and recommendations that support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of all ongoing projects to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery in line with Bagno Technik standards.
  2. Track project progress across sites, identifying delays, risks, and deviations from approved timelines or specifications.
  3. Coordinate periodic site visits to assess work quality, materials usage, and adherence to technical and safety standards.
  4. Review and verify project documentation, including work schedules, progress reports, and change requests.
  5. Collaborate with project engineers, site supervisors, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of issues.
  6. Maintain regular communication with the Project Management Office and relevant stakeholders on project performance and updates.
  7. Support in developing and implementing project monitoring frameworks, performance indicators, and reporting templates.
  8. Prepare and submit detailed project monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.
  9. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, design specifications, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
  10. Participate in project review meetings and contribute insights for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  11. Liaise with vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure that deliverables meet approved quality and technical expectations.
  12. Conduct verification of project completion milestones before handover and recommend approvals for payments based on verified progress.
  13. Support documentation and archiving of all project-related data for accountability and reference purposes.
  14. Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the project monitoring function.

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project monitoring, construction supervision, engineering project coordination, or similar roles.
  3. Professional certifications such as COREN, PMP, or QMS certification (added advantage).
  4. Experience working in construction, real estate development, or engineering consulting firms is preferred.
