Project Manager
Role Purpose
- The Project Manager will oversee planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the company’s projects. The role ensures timely delivery of objectives, effective coordination of partners and stakeholders, efficient use of resources, and compliance with company and partner requirements. The Project Manager will champion high-quality execution to drive measurable impacts for smallholder poultry farmers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, execution, and closure for both projects, ensuring alignment with objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop detailed implementation workplans and schedules in consultation with internal teams and partners.
- Work across-functional teams (extension, finance, M&E, procurement, logistics) to achieve deliverables.
- Engage and manage relationships with partners, donors, government agencies, farmer groups, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with partner guidelines, contractual obligations, and company policies.
- Oversee risk management processes, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges.
- Supervise and mentor project staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Monitor project activities, track KPIs, evaluate progress, and prepare timely, high-quality reports for management and donors.
- Support budget management, forecasting, and financial controls to ensure responsible use of funds.
- Facilitate regular project review meetings, learning sessions, and donor visits.
- Represent the organization in relevant external forums and stakeholder engagements related to poultry development.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, preferably in the agricultural or poultry value chain sectors.
- Proven track record in donor-funded project implementation.
- Demonstrated expertise in budget management, workplan development, and reporting.
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with project management software is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel frequently within project locations.
