Project Manager

Job Description

  • We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead our civil works and site activities, and contribute significantly to the progress of the Industrial park development.
  • The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the entire engineering process and management of an industrial park project.
  • This is a full-time role for a dynamic and dedicated project manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Initiation: Defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, creating detailed plans, and establishing timelines.
  • Resource Management: Identifying, procuring, and managing necessary resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel (including subcontractors).
  • Budget Management: Developing and managing the project budget, tracking expenses, and implementing cost control measures to stay within financial constraints.
  • Scheduling: Creating and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Quality Control: Implementing quality assurance procedures, conducting inspections, and ensuring the construction work meets specified standards and regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and managing unforeseen issues that may arise during the project.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Contract Management: Drafting and managing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Safety Management: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment on the construction site.
  • Stakeholder Management: Keeping stakeholders informed about project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed project records, preparing reports, and documenting changes to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the project, including delays, material shortages, or conflicts between parties.

Requirements
To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Candidates should possess a B.Eng / B.Tech, or Master’s Degree
  • Have 10 years and above post-NYSC job experience in civil engineering in managing civil works in a large international construction firm in Nigeria. Working in a Chinese firm will be an advantage.
  • Be a resident in Ode-Remo, Ogun State or be ready to relocate to Ode-Remo or neighboring towns for ease of commuting to the site daily.
  • Have worked with a renowned civil engineering firm in Nigeria or worked with an international civil engineering firm abroad.
  • Familiarity with construction management software, scheduling tools, and other relevant technologies is becoming increasingly important
  • Behighly computer-skilled: AutoCAD, Excel, Microsoft Office suite and Revit CAD. In addition, the candidate must be familiar with the use of Buidertrend or CoConstruct
  • Be certified by relevant professional bodies such as COREN or any other recognized engineering certification authority. Membership of CIPMN (Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria) will be an added advantage.
  • Fluent in English – oral and written. Basic knowledge of the Chinese language will be an advantage.
